Nativalien is the electronic music alias of Jordanian-Canadian singer, songwriter, and producer Qais Khoury. While widely recognized for his work in Indie Soul and Alternative Rock under the Pinwheel Valley name, Nativalien has quietly built a formidable presence in the electronic music scene. Since graduating from London’s Point Blank Music College in 2014, he has remained intentionally low-profile, honing his craft behind the scenes. Drawing inspiration from artists like Cubicolor, Durante, and Elderbrook, Nativalien is a passionate DJ and producer specializing in immersive Deep and Atmospheric House, as well as driving Electronica.

British Cypriot artist A!MS is launching a new musical genre with his album Peak Season, released on 1st August. The 9-track project introduces “Global Street” (or “Street Global”) — a sound that blends the rebellious energy of pirate radio with A!MS’s Mediterranean, Cypriot, Lebanese, and Italian roots. Rooted in hip hop and UK garage, Global Street is designed for modern creators like influencers and streamers, aiming to break traditional industry boundaries and highlight that global stars can emerge from anywhere.

The album features major collaborations with Julian Marley, ArrDee, Ramz, and others, co-produced by global hitmakers Cool & Dre, alongside contributions from Antaeus, Michelin Shin, and Golden. Key tracks include “Light & Love”, a collaboration with Julian Marley, Antaeus, and Hypertone that promotes unity and upliftment, and “Need Somebody” with ArrDee, which infuses vibrant Afrobeat energy.

Recorded in Cyprus, which A!MS calls a “music industry desert,” the album was crafted away from London’s hustle, allowing him to shape a unique, borderless sound. He compares Cyprus to what Jamaica was for Bob Marley — a creative sanctuary where a truly global movement can begin. Peak Season marks a bold step in redefining genre boundaries.

It is both invocation and vow — a promise to shield them, body and soul, whatever the cost, and to guard the earth that holds their roots. The song does not turn away from the truth that the land itself has been altered — that war has crept to our own shores, reshaping the very fields we swore to protect. The Nābu Pēra music project is a Cypriot trio from Nicosia that fuses traditional and modern elements to create a unique sound. Formed by Savvas Thoma (bendir, vocals), Natasa Hadjiandreou (vibraphone, percussion), and Demetris Yiasemides (flute, sylphyo, electronics), their mission is to redefine how we perceive everyday soundscapes. Their debut album, Soundscapes of Nicosia, releases on October 10, 2025 through the Italian label Zero Nove Nove, with global digital distribution and physical copies available in several European countries.

The album transforms the auditory identity of Nicosia—Europe’s last divided capital—into music. Drawing inspiration from the city’s geopolitical complexity and cultural intersections, Nābu Pēra blends ambient flutes, polyrhythmic percussion, electronic textures, and evocative vocals. Urban sounds—footsteps, voices, electrical hums—are reimagined as musical material, encouraging listeners to slow down and reconnect with their environment.

This world music project integrates contemporary classical, improvisation, Mediterranean traditions, and electronic elements into a layered, immersive experience. Recorded at Hot Soap Studio in Larnaca, the album reflects deep research and collaboration. Rather than merely sampling the city, Nābu Pēra listens, deciphers, and reinvents its sound, offering a new way to experience both music and place.

About Alexis Kasinos:
Alexis Kasinos is a jazz guitarist and composer based in Cyprus. He began studying piano and guitar at a young age, later earning his BMus and MMus in jazz guitar from Codarts Conservatory (cum laude, 2015) and Amsterdam Conservatory (2017). During his studies in the Netherlands, he studied under leading jazz figures such as Peter Bernstein, Jesse Van Ruller, Martijn van Iterson, Reinier Baas, and Gilad Hekselman. He has performed across a wide range of ensembles — from trios to big bands — and taken part in major festivals including Windcraft Festival, Paradise Jazz Festival, Jazz & World Music Showcase, Fengaros Festival, and more. A notable highlight of his career was a collaborative tour with American pianist David Garfield.

“Parallel Paths” marks Kasinos’s second release as a bandleader, showcasing his evolution as both a composer and improviser within the contemporary jazz idiom.

Singer songwriter and guitarist Marc Zagar’s (Copper Mine) earliest and most lasting musical influences came from exploring as a teenager his older sister’s record collection and discovering the likes of Bob Dylan, JJ Cale, Dire Straits, the Beatles and Bob Marley. He later came to love other genres including jazz, Latino and opera. He sees songs as a great way of capturing moments in time.

Pinwheel Valley is the brainchild of Qais Khoury. An introvert with introspection, Qais is one of those rare artists who channels his life experiences with bravado and flair, all within the feeling of the moment and the scope of an eternity.

“I wrote ‘Someway’ as a tender plea, woven with threads of hope and longing. It reflects the ache of separation (whether physical, emotional, or spiritual) and the profound yearning for reconnection. In an age defined by instant, hypermodern communication, I found myself gazing out to sea, inspired by a bygone era when messages in bottles carried words of love across vast, uncertain distances. The song captures that sense of remoteness and the fragility of faith in a bond that may still endure. In this light, the refrain “know I’ll find it someway” becomes an unyielding anchor of hope.”
